The Fake Sound of Progress
Friday. 9.3.04 11:07 pm
I haven't done anything that can be considered a "real" blog, so I thought I would steal the idea from Chris talkin about my classes. I've actually had a full week of classes though, so mine is better and more quick to read.
Principles of Accounting (ACCT 201) My Grade Prediction: A
Seems decent and easy enough. The professor comes out and flat out tells you that the only math skills required are adding, subtracting, mulitplying, and dividing. Straight forward stuff. Enough said. Basically, make sure each side of a statement balances out with everything in the correct position.
Probability: Decisions Analysis and Business Stat. (DSCI 206) My Grade Prediction: B
It's still a bit early and going over some things that are very trivial at the moment. But I've been looking ahead at some of the material and it gets a bit tougher. The teacher is a nice guy so thats a plus. I have not a clue how this class and its material will be used in my future, but I don't have a choice.
Principles of Macroeconomics (ECON 201) My Grade Prediction: B
Again, trivial matters at this time. Professor insists if he asks you a question and he bothers you, to tell him to "Go Away!" and he'll automatically break eye contact and go away. Your garde is decided on by 3 tests, with 30 multiple choice on each. So its gonna be interesting.
Calculus and Matrices - Business and Economy (MATH 200) My Grade Prediction: B/C
Uh oh. A class where work a good amount of work will have to be done.I was flipping through the book, a good deal looked very familiar. But alas, the no calculator rule is the biggest biatch. Nice professor guy though.
And then there's the class which I finally get to talk about stuff I know:
Introduction to Information Systems (IT 201) My Grade Prediction: A+
I think this class is an insult to anyone with more than a year of simply using a computer. This class is gonna be dirt easy. I live for this stuff. But when the first few chapters start out with things like "Introduction to the World of Computers" and "Using a PC", I found it flat out laughable. I was shaking my head when he started to "teach" these simple concepts.
So it's gonna be interesting. I'm also working on-campus at the Gornto building in the Learning Assessment Lab where people come to take tests for professors and what not. Gets a bit boring, but its good for me because I actually end up doing school work. Thats right people, Scott doing school work. Hell must have frozen over or at least turned the AC on.
I've found a few tech tools that come in handy. Shareaza is another p2p file sharing server which I have found has very good music unlike Kazaa sometimes. The key is people actually rate each song and its quality. The top ones naturally go to the top of your list in your search.
Also Xbox mod software is now being put into one nice package called Slayer. The newest version, 2.6, includes popular applications such as Evolution X and the Xbox Media Player. Also included are some smaller known but great apps such as DVD2Xbox and boXplorer. Interested in modding? Check that out.
Oh yeah. For those who have seen the first season of Chappelle's Show will understand this reference. I played my roommate on the gamecube. I whooped his monkey ass in some street hoops.
